A Wonderful Yorkshire Day Celebration – Sunday 2nd August 2026

There was plenty of Yorkshire spirit on display at Archbishop Holgate Hospital as residents, friends and members of the community gathered on the Hospital lawn to celebrate Yorkshire Day.

From 1.00pm, the lawn became a lovely setting for a relaxed afternoon of picnics, conversation and traditional games. With the White Rose flag flying proudly, there was a real sense of community as everyone came together to enjoy the afternoon and celebrate what makes Yorkshire such a special place to call home.

There was plenty of opportunity to enjoy a picnic, share good food and catch up with friends, while croquet and traditional lawn games brought a little friendly competition and fun to the afternoon.

More than anything, it was a chance to pause, enjoy one another’s company and celebrate our Yorkshire community. The sunshine, laughter, games and conversations created a warm and welcoming atmosphere on the Hospital lawn.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our Yorkshire Day celebration such an enjoyable afternoon.
